The American company Netflix has decided to end its flagship series "House of Cards", due to revelations about the hero of this series, Kevin Spacey, on sexual harassment, report several American media on Monday.

In an interview aired on Sunday by Buzzfeed, actor Anthony Rapp recounted how Kevin Spacey, 26 years old at the time, had thrown himself at the end of an evening in his Manhattan apartment.

"The 6th season will be the last," said Netflix and the Media Rights Capital company, which co-produced the series, in a joint statement. The filming of this final season has just begun.

The two companies also said they were "deeply troubled by reports of last night on Kevin Spacey".

A source close to the dossier assured, however, that the announced end of the series "was unrelated to the allegations on Sunday".

Anthony Rapp explained have managed to escape by taking refuge in the bathroom. The actor, Oscar-winning twice with including the statuette for best actor for "American Beauty" in 1999, apologized for these actions which he claims not to remember.

He concluded his apology by revealing his homosexuality, a "coming out" bad welcomed in Hollywood because of the timing chosen.

According to the American media, the streaming video service has decided to put an end to its "House of Cards" series, in which Kevin Spacey embodies Frank Underwood, a politician who covets the position of President of the United States.

Season 6, in the process of shooting, will be well aired in 2018 but Netflix will not order additional seasons, specify the American media.

Spacey, co-star of "House of Cards" with actress Robin Wright, embodies a cynical politician and willing to do anything to achieve his ends, acceding to the Presidency of the United States by dint of low blows and even a few murders.

Initially very applauded, the series knew in recent times a mixed success, on the backdrop of American political landscape turned upside down by the election of Donald Trump.
