Apple held a special press conference tonight, and the company took the opportunity to reveal three new phones: the iPhone X, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus.
Certainly, some of you have to realize, but the California-based firm has faced this year still to many rumors and even several well felt leaks. Late last week, a person closes for his business sent to several media links pointing to iOS 11 GM and platform analysis revealed a lot of information about the products presented this evening.
This should not surprise you, but these revelations all targeted in the thousand.
IPhone X: The spearhead of the brand
This year is a bit special for Apple. The company has indeed celebrated the tenth anniversary of her phone, and she has chosen to launch no less than three new phones for the occasion.
IPhone X (pronounced "ten") is a little figure of "anniversary" model and he is entitled to a new design and new features.
For starters, the terminal swapped the usual case in glass for the benefit of a beautiful tinted glass shell reinforced by a metal frame made with a new aluminum alloy.
Usually, Apple disclaims its different phones in five or six colors, but the manufacturer was more reasonable this year and so he chose to be limited to three colors: black, white/grey and copper gold.
iPhone X will not however straight as to the first two.
Unlike the other two models, the iPhone X has a screen devoid of borders that spans a good part of its façade. The result is interesting, but Apple had to make compromises, and the firm was forced to remove the drive Touch ID.
To replace it, the firm has set up several gestures and it will be enough to touch the screen to wake up the phone. The return to the home screen will be done in a vertical scan from the bottom to the top. The same gesture accompanied by a pause of a few seconds will allow access to multitasking.
For a time, some observers expect that the fingerprint reader is integrated into the terminal slab.This is, however, not the case and the phone is so devoid a fingerprint. Indeed, he put everything on its facial recognition system: Face ID.
The system in question goes far enough because it is based on a large number of sensors. In addition to the frontal camera, the terminal is equipped with a structured light emitter usually present in professional scanners and an infrared sensor to improve the speed and accuracy of detection.
With this profusion of sensors, facial recognition of iPhone X will be able to identify the user in an instant in any light condition (even in the dark) and in addition, it will be very difficult to cheat. It is obviously a good thing since Face ID will not be limited to the identification and it will also serve to validate all payments made using the solution of the firm.
Interestingly, Apple is based on a neural network to build a mathematical model from the face of the user. It is managed by a chip built right into the version of the Bionic A11 of the iPhone X.
The latter is based on two different hearts, and she is able to handle about 600 billion operations per second. Thanks to this peculiarity, Face ID will be able to recognize the user regardless of her outfit or her facial hair. It will work even with glasses.
The data is not sent to the servers of the company, and everything is so stored locally on the terminal, with a dash of encryption behind.
Of after Apple, Touch ID had a one in 50,000 about error rates. Face ID rises to one in a million.

For the rest, the IPhone X inevitably reminds its comrades and it is equipped with a switch located on the left flank, a switch dominating the two buttons devolved to the control of the volume. The power button is on the other side and it is a little longer.
If Apple has changed its size, it is not only for cosmetic reasons and this button will have several different functions. The user will be able to use it to access specific functions and it is enough to have extended support to wake Siri.
The connection is limited to its part to the bare minimum and the terminal thus embarks a Lightning port on its lower edge.
For the technical part, Apple has not skimped on the means, and the firm has thus equipped the IPhone X with a beautiful OLED screen of 5.8 inches capable of displaying a definition in 2436 X 1125 with several home technologies. Or a pixel density of 458 dpi. The True Tone is obviously part of it, but there is also a function to limit the remanence effect of these slabs.
Without surprise the slab is also compatible with the 3D Touch, HDR, Dolby Vision, and it also offers a virtually infinite contrast.
The terminal is also powered by a SoC A11 Bionic consisting of six cores divided into two clusters. The two fastest reach a frequency of 2.5 GHz and they will automatically activate for the most resource-intensive tasks. According to Apple, this new chip would be 25% more efficient than the previous generation for the fastest cluster and 70% for the least performing.
On the CPU side, the company's choice focused on a chip designed by its care and the latter delivers 70% higher performance compared to the previous generation. Interestingly, the terminal embarks on a processor dedicated to the processing of images and it boosts the speed of autofocus.
Apple chose to decline the IPhone X into three storage capacities with at Choice 64 or 256 GB of internal memory.
IPhone X take him also a module photo double, but this last is placed in this time on a vertical axis. Behind, there are two sensors of 12 million pixels respectively surmounted by a wide opening to f/1.8 and a telephoto lens with an opening in f/2.4. Another novelty, the IPhone X is compatible with both the wireless charge by induction and more precisely with the standard IQ. It will therefore be compatible with all the charging stations supporting this standard and obviously the same for the other two models.
Apple also plans to sell a product capable of simultaneously recharge an iPhone, a Watch and the Airpod.
Autonomy will last two hours more than the iPhone 7.
Price aside, the iPhone X will be offered starting at $999
iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus
The iphone 8 and the iphone 8 Plus are not as impressive as their comrades, they are not simple intermediate models and they are also entitled to many novelties.
Like the IPhone X, they are equipped with a glass case and a metal chassis. The ergonomics are more classic in contrast and these two devices inherit the same lines as the previous models.
So they are content with a classic screen (with borders) and the Touch ID Reader responds naturally to the call.
Apple, however, had the good sense to endow them with several functions inherited from their great-brother. The iphone 8 and the iphone 8 plus will have the right to its wireless charging system.
They also have many similarities to the third model. At least outside the screen since they both inherit the IPS slab from their predecessors.
Their diagonal and their definition do not change either. The IPhone 8 will be entitled to a 4.7-inch screen capable of displaying 1334 X 750 and its companion reaches 5.5 inches with a more definition of Full HD.
On the other hand, both terminals will be powered by an A11 Bionic chip offering the same computing power.The storage will also be available in several versions, and users will have the right between versions with 32 or 256 GB of internal memory to choose from.
The IPhone 8 will be a little bit more shy than its great-brothers on the field of the photo and it will be content with a new 12 million pixel sensor topped with a wide-angle stabilized opening at f/1.8.
The iPhone 8 Plus will be closer to the iPhone X on this part. This will result in a dual module with two 12 million pixel sensors, with a wide-angle opening at f/1.8 on one side and a telephoto lens opening at f/2.8 on the other.
For the price, you will have to count a minimum of $699 for the iPhone 8 and $799 for the iPhone 8 Plus. The most expensive models will be offered at €979
Pre-orders will start on 15 September and deliveries will take place from September 22.
